Default Floor mats ripping the carpet up

You know those floor mats that attach on to that little hook? Seems that after a week of my mat being on, my carpet started to tear. So now I just have it off the hook and it very slowly creeps up under they foot pedals.

Anyone else have this issue?

Sorry - no hook on my mats, and they don't creep up me either. I have the hooks in my F150 and in the Navigator, but no issues with them tearing any carpet.

What are you doing in there that would make it 1: tear the carpet and 2: move the mat up under the pedals???

The carpet in the new '05s aren't the greatest so I guess you just have to be careful. No problem with tears yet.

Same issue with mine. Dealer said it was "wear and tear" and I was stuck with it. Oh well at the price I paid for the car with the preformance I got, I cannot bitch too much about some thing I can cover up, lol.

Answer to question 1: - Having glorious three way sex
Answer to question 2: - Having just regular sex

But seriously, here are the mats I have and I'm wondering if the "spikes" on the underside just aren't gripping good enough to help the hook out. Nonetheless, I love these mats.

Chrisc, mine are stock so if they will not grab then the aftermarket ones may not either.

My mats are staying quite nice... but then... I bought some black/red rubber mats and put them down to protect from my grungy shoes.
