Default Priority code

I just got my VOC and my priority code on a V6 that I ordered about 5 weeks ago. My priority code is 80 which doesnt sound good. Who assigns these numbers, did my dealer assign an 80 to me? & Does this mean that Itll take 6 months to build my car? [>:]

The dealer assigns the priority number for the orders it places. However, the priority number is only relevant to the dealership in which you ordered it from. For example, if your priority 80 is the lowest given (on a scale of 1-99) then your order will be processed first (given there are no comodity holds). If there are numbers lower than yours, they will be pulled for production first. Another example, if someone at a different dealership has a priority of 15 but there are 5 priority 10 orders in front of it and you have a priority 80 with no orders in front of yours, then you will be built quicker than the previously mention priority 15 (actually you would be built at the same time as the first priority 10 order, given that the dealers have the same allocation). Hope this helps and I'm pretty sure I am correct on all this as I've done a decent amount of reading on the subject. I'm sure someone will chime in if I am wrong though....

It all depends on where you live. People in FL and TX get their cars super quick. I on the other hand, have been waiting since the end of June for mine. It was just serialized on Friday 12/2. BTW, I live in MI. V6's should not take as long as there are a greater number of 6'ers built compared to GT's.

priority 80= BS.

retail orders start at 40 and go down- that car will not get built- look over here, do yourself a favor and read thru it all, then go have a 'talk' with your dealer:

allocation explanation

if they wont get this moving, call carlos at garyyeomans(carlosm at allfordmustangs.com) or ISELLFORD here or on BOF or themustangsource.com forums- these guys have allocation, will deal, and will get the car dropped direct from the factory to a local dealer for like 150 bucks. If I had to do it all over, that would be the way.

as you are ordering a v6- call your local triple A. they can get you a best deal, and you aint got to mess with the dealer greif.

priority 80 is a stock for the lot order- unless they have NO OTHER CARS AT ALL on order, you are looking at a long wait. If they tell you they cant go lower than 80 due to no other orders, tell them otherwise- my first was only 2006 on order(small dealer), placed at 40, I asked(repeatedly- insisted), they entered a 10, and it took it. A 10 means NO ORDERS CAN GET STUFFED IN LATER AHEAD OF YOU. IT CAN BE DONE, AS I SAW IT.

good luck!
