Default Wider Wheels on 05/06 GT?

Has anybody tried wider than a 9 inch rim on the new GT? I want to put 18x10.5 Saleens in back and I definitely dont have the clearance. Offset recommendations? Spacers a must, for sure. Is it possible? wheelcontact.com says no.[:@] I think it can be done with some adjustments. Any input ?

It can definitely be done, and with the proper offset, no spacers will be needed. Lots of guys here with 10" wheels, I have 9.5" on the rear of my car with no clearance issues.

Edit note: tirerack has SSR GT-3's in 18x10.5 for the new stang.

Thanks. My 06 has the 18 inch "fan blade" style. All I see aftermarket is bullit style. I dont care for the looks of the bullit rims[>:], so I think my only other option for a 18x10.5 OEM are the 99-04 Saleens. Will a 10.5 accomodate a 315? Why else would Nitto make em. Again, I heard it can be done with no worries as a daily driver. Anyone agree? Thanks

Oh yea, one more thing. Do your 9.5's make the tires stick out past the fenders? What you think it would look like with 10.5's/315's? Thanks.
