Honestly, for what you are spending to get it up and running, no, I don't think the numbers are all that impressive. By the time you tie up $6k in the thing ( and that is if you do the install yourself ) to get that 100hp, the $ per hp ratio just doesn't really ring my bell. I don't care if they did it with 1psi. Absolutely, I agree with you. The lower the psi, the easier it is on the motor. Not arguing that at all. And it is no secret that you are a Saleen fan and own their cars. I am not saying Saleen is a bad product. It is by far the nicest looking setup out there and their design is pretty slick. I can guarentee that the S281E car making 585 has a hell of a lot more done to it than just the blower kit they sell. With the right amount of $$ thrown at it, probably any blower kit out there will make 600hp. But for right out of the box performance the Saleens are not topping the charts...so to speak.

Given my choice of induction products, I would go turbos. But that is just me.
The whole point I was trying to make is that the Saleen series 6 blower is extremely efficient for a positive displacment blower. Yes, I am a Saleen fan, but this product is the best positive displacment blower made right now. The bottom line is that if you want a positive displacment blower on your stang, you really cant beat the Saleen unit. And yes, the E car has other things that allow for more hp. So the 585 figure doesn't directly apply to a gt, but gt's are making big power at 8-9 psi with the Saleen unit. It could be potentailly possible to get 900+ rwhp out of a properly equipped gt running the Saleen blower. It is capable of 24 psi.

ALL RIGHT, I have to put in my two cents in. I want to go with the Saleen SC because of the less stress it has on the engine and I have to admitt, although my mustang is not a daily driver I don't foresee bringing my mustang to 600 or 700 hp so that is not an issue for me.

Basicly, I just want to feel the power when I hit the gas pedal and surprise that idiot BMW driver who thinks he's better than anyone else!

The blower might be capable of it, but the engine block sure isn't. One of the local tuning shops has one of our GT blocks in their "showroom." The guy that owned it was pushing around 525HP to the wheels. He missed a shift and now the block literally looks like a grenade exploded in it. He was running a Procharger and (if I recall) a 175HP shot of nitrous. (Big reason why I hate nitrous, another being that it's just temporary.)

Perhaps because of how crappy the Roush Stage 3 performed in the write up in the new ( Feb 06 ) Mustang Enthusiast magazine.
13.52 @ 104 in the quarter!! And that was with 4.5psi

I agree with Hawgman. KB takes a very scientific approach to their research. Their products are very extensively tested before they are released. They use a twin screw design which is the most efficient design available. Less heat production and boost even at low RPM's where the centrifigal units, like a turbo need lots of RPM to work and only provide boost close to redline. A twin screw will give you power where you need it down low. The boost, to a large extent is controlled by throttle opening rather than RPM alone so it's a lot easier to control. Go to KB's website. They explain this a lot better than I can.

I had a 1997 and blew up the bottom end with the Vortech.I did not go crazy with it but it just couldnt take it. it lasted 6 months! I now have a 2006 and the motors are rated (for mods) at a concervative 500mph max unless you rebuild the motor with the proper rods, pistons and so on, just like they do with the extreme Saleen. The closer I get to 500, the more nightmares I wwill have. I chose to go with the Saleen blower for longevity and I only paid 4500 for it and will install it myself. Ive never seen them for 6K. 425+ is a nice figure...Not a lot of cars out there with the look and feel of the Mustang.

Where did you get your Saleen SC for $4500?
I am interested in getting one; Saleen is $5000.
