Lowering Springs
Well, my neighbor got a job with a place called XPP (extreme power and performance) and they just got a deal with a spring company...
They havent released the springs yet, but are testing them and need different cars to test them on. The 05 and 06 stangs are one of them...
now heres where i come in: they would need my car from monday until wednesday or thursday, and they would put the lowering springs on, see how it rides and supposedly will be a nicer than stock ride, and i get the free set of springs and my stock springs back.
should i or not?

Also, my parents would like to know 2 things
1. Will it void any warantee's? if so what part?
2. how much would it cost to get my stock strings installed if i decide against the lowering ones or if i want the stock ones for winter?

Sounds like a decent deal, but I would set it up so the outfit would put the stock springs back in for free if you didnt like the lowered ones. And get it all in writing! They wont void your warrantee unless the dealer can prove the springs or their installation caused a problem. And forget about changing em from season to season. The rears are rather easy to change, but the fronts are a bitch and require special tools. Ask the company how much the springs will lower your car. You really dont want a car thats too low for reasons of poor ride and hitting potholes, etc. Think "practical" first and "looks" second. There are many good outfits that have tested and true springs. And they arent all that expensive, so dont be in a big hurry to go with untested stuff. Just my two cents.
well i called him back and he said they charge 200 for swapping springs out... hopefully i can afford a beater by next year O_O lol...
also, they said if i wasnt satusfied with the springs they put in the first time, they would make new ones to fit the way i like them, and then test those. SO basically i get to tell a company exactly how to make my springs and how high/ and rideability.
also i called my dealership and they said anything suspension-wise they will not cover >_<

Ask the company if they are going to also install a adjustable panhard rod. When you lower the rear it shifts to the right. You will also find the ride will not be as smooth without a new set of adjustable shocks and struts. I drove around on the factory struts for a couple of months before Tokico came out with the D-Specs for the 05. The factory Struts just don't handle the additional load to well from my personal experience.
well, i was told if i wasnt satusfied with the ride or anything about them, they'd put the stock springs on and remake (yes remake, not tweak) the springs to my liking, because this is field work and tehy want to see what mustang owners want. So it sounds like i'm set... but thanks for the advice, and if they remake them to no end without any results, i'll get the d-spec adjustable struts via your advice.
thanks guys.... lovin the input
