Two different Borla Axle-backs?
Is it me, or does Brola offer two different rear mufflers for the Mustang? If you go the website....
http://www.borla.com/applications/lo...ord/Mustang/GT
....you see a cylindrical, canister type and an oval, traditional shape type.
(BTW, looks like the oval, traditional type is the same as the Ford Racing exhaust?!?!)
Who has which style? How is the sound on both?
Thanks!

RE: Two different Borla Axle-backs?
I believe they make the mufflers for FRPP....I have the round ones. They, according to FRPP, are louder than the oval stock style-looking mufflers. The round ones are supposedly only 49 state legal, where as the oval ones are 50 state legal in terms of noise. They give my car a deep, almost big-block sound.....they do have drone when driving around town, but I just did a trip from Atlanta to Orlando and back and it seems that with the cruise set, the drone is minimal if any (cruise set at 78 to 85 mph)

I've got the oval Borlas...they are legal in 50 states (or 51..i don't remember)...I think they make a really sublte difference. I'm happy. They do not drone, they seemed to improve the car's perfprmance...and definitely sound a bit deeper. I would say they are the perfect upgrade for someone who wants a street car.

I have Borla Stingers (round) they sound awesome and did have drone, but after installing mac 1 3/4" headers and prochamber it decreased significantly. much better now, but overall is louder with headers, just not as much drone.
