Default New Hood, new issues...

Hello all,

Well, I got my car back from the shop last week, then got sick. So yesterday I got her out on the freeway and noticed that my new GTR Ram Air hood is lifting up about 2 inches, at least from where I was sitting. I do not yet have a CAI, so this is dumping extra air under the hood.

My question is two parts:
1. If I punch a hole in the air filter cover (stock) to allow rammed air in, will this settle the hood down some?

2. I know hood pins are the end-state goal. Can someone direct me at functional hood pins?

Also, and other advice or info that may be pertinent, please forward to me.

Thanks in advance,
BrookShadow_RC

The problem is you have a gtr ram air hood on now and you will have to live with it till you put the stock one back on

What type of pins are you interested in? Twist type or the regular pin and lock ring

i'm installing hood pins.

I would get that problem w/stock hood at 105 mph.
Now i get it at 85 mph. That issue sucks but i wouldn't
trade this hood for stock ever. Looks too bad ***.

Mine won't be functional until I add the Vortech. (long time from now)

I'm interested in really whichever ones work and look the best. The old style with the pin and lock ring would work.

I have ford racing pins. You can install em yourself but. I paid $80ish to have a body shop do 'em. I'm tool challenged so this was money well spent.

i had the same issue. i did drill some holes in the airbox but it didn't do anything performance or otherwise. you will have to get some pins. i used these:aerolatch from coastfab.com

Do you still have the part # for your pins? I may have to call the dealership and order some.
