+1 does England even own a auto company anymore?

I think they still make bicycles.

The truth of the matter is they are probably pissed because Ford owns Aston Martin, Land Rover.
Agreed and they keep bragging about the "British" Jaguar, someone forgot to tell them the reason the "S" Type has 400hp is because "Ford" installed it and not only that but brought that stink pile of a company out of the dumpster and into a great company once again.

The "Colony" has done very well in my book, and I'm not from the Colony! I'm an import myself.... Bugger off to them Brits I say.

Here is one on the C6 Vette

you have to look at the perspective though. They are British and they like small, well balanced, lightweight gocarts for cars.

We have a different perspective here in north america. For the price, this new car is a bargain and a half. I think he liked it.

By the way, someone should tell him that he's driving on the wrong side of the road. [8D]

Heck, even a 1970's Ford Transit kicked butt on the average Brit car... back in the day
In this episode the main guy on Top Gear got his Jaguar butt kicked by a POS Ford Transit delivery van, so much for the all mighty Euro cars.. driven by a German girl.. Ok, she lost by .5 second but the point remains, it was a van for Pete sakes...

No, they talk about budgets and how we have to stick by them when they race cars with no budget, like they can be compared which they can't. They're stuffy attitute is we can't build cars yet who whupped everybody with a Ford in the 60's?

We beat them at their game and they trash our cars, then we buy their companies because they can't compete, they need to get over themselves or put their money where their mouth is. Pay attention to the little comments they make, they actually hate our cars, I think it galls them to say anything positive.

hey not all us brits dislike american cars!
Clarkson takes the pee out of the germans the most, what you forget is our little country is no bigger than Florida and is a lot older our road system is alot narrower than yours and a hell of a lot twistier, we have roundabouts all over the place like THIS! its also a lot more expensive to live and drive over here and with petrol currently at approx $7 per gallon is it any wonder most brits dont want a huge V8? we have to pay a road tax every year aswel approx $290 just to drive on the roads and we also now pay tax on insurance premiums, yes we are screwed by our government, but..we arnt all bad!

I agree with your points however they constantly state that "American's don't know how to build cars".... Don't get me wrong, I love the show, they're funny and witty and until they test an American car I feel they make valid points and they seem to be pretty level about things..... until they get anything American, then it's complaint city. They drive these unbelievable cars, some built with no budget in mind and then have the nads to complain about a Ford car or Chevy or whatever built to a budget as if every Tom Dick or Harry made a million bucks a year. They should stop comparing 180k cars to cars that cost less than 30k. Hampster states spend more on breaks, spend more on engine forgetting that 99.99999% of the buying public will not be road racing the 300C.

The C6 Corvette got third in the drag race because the Hampster can't friggin launch a car and called it slow, and he short shifts, he blamed this on the car yet every other driver can nail near 12 second blasts from it, yeah, that is slow for an American car built to a budget...NOT... so the Vette has leafsprings, it still pulls near 1g and for the money is one heck of a car but compared to a Lambo it pales, it was never designed to compare to a Lambo, anybody who does has a faulty brain..

I love the Brits, just not their attitude for anything built in the USA because they assume it's "rubbish"...

what the friggin frak is THAT!! checked out the "roundabout" link and man that looks fun! [sm=bounceybounce.gif] might be worth the price of a plane ticket to go out there and drive that during peak traffic...wouldn't even care what kind of car...long as it has at least 4 wheels, 2 cylinders and an accelerator pedal, it would be fun!
