I've watched almost all of the episodes of Top Gear, and if you pick up one thing, it's the stunning amount of national pride they have for English cars, despite none existing anymore. Even TVR is owned by a Russian now, so they just worship the name, instead of the company. American cars always have terrible handling and rides, German cars have no soul and are over engineered, any Asian car blows, and much to my liking they refer to French cars as "surrender monkeys". The bright side is though, the guy that did the Mustang piece, although he's unnecesarily hard on it, he actually likes muscle cars, he bought a 'cuda in one episode I think. I can't remember the exact car at the moment, but it was a beautiful machine.

Eh.... take it with a grain of salt.

They are reviewers. All reviewers point out faults. Just because he didn't get out and worship the gravel it drives on doesn't mean he doesn't like it.

Take the M5 for example (M5 Top Gear). They do loads of sh*t talking on it and it's not 'American'.

I do take what they say most of the time with a grain of salt, as I do with anybody talking about cars. I'm sure as heck not asking them to praise them, but the statement "American's can't build cars" gets under my craw and will never be taken with a grain of salt.
