Speed Sensitive Volume: Radio volume changes automatically and slightly with vehicle speed to compensate for road and wind noise. Recommended level is 1-3. Level 0 turns the feature off and level 7 is the maximum setting.

Press MENU to access and use ^/v/ < seek > to adjust the volume setting. The level will appear in the display.
When I got my car it was set to 7 from the dealer and it was really annoying..I reset the level to 2 and it works pretty good now. You can barely hear it adjusting the volume

[:@] Had my GT since October and have only put 800 miles on it and am taking it in for what will be its third 500.

This is ridiculous.

The part that irritates me the most is the fact that its size is so stupid and overly large its a major undertaking to put a stereo that not only fits the BLACK HOLE but looks like it belongs there.

I want to go after market but the ***** who run the stereo shops around here don't have any experience with them or any literature on what products are available.

I would appreciate it if you guys and gals who bit the bullet and bought after market would be so kind as to post any pics you have of your new stereos. I have to have a product that looks good and sounds good.

I'm on my third shaker and it still occasionally plays backwards or advancing several tracks ahead. Ford wants me to

have a computer program ran on it but they need the car for two hours. **********************hit.

SonicStanGirl......

What do you mean when you say "had the Shaker on"? Am I missing something here?

My Shaker 500 has been great except for one error message. I turned the car off and all was great again! :-)

My Shaker 1000 is working fine so far. I have only had it kick out a CD once and that was burned on a regular CD. I have had no problems with playing burned CDs that were burned on a Sony Audio CD. Seems like it needs the higher quality format? No problems with purchased CDs or with skipping. My 05 GT was born 07/22/05.

I am a rocker at heart. I got the Shaker 1000 because it was already in the car on the dealer's lot. I probably would have gone for the 500 if I had ordered it because I really don't dig the super thump thump in the trunk. I have heard some people on this site and others that bash buying the shaker 1000 unless you are a hip-hop lover who wears the super baggy pants and wants to thump other people's cars with your music. I don't usually have the shaker turned on, however, last night I played Def Leppard's "Women" at 3/4 volume with the shaker on and it totally rocked! Sounded like I was in a concert! Rock on the radio doesn't sound awesome with the shaker on but when you play CD's it does!
I'm a rocker to--1970s/80s rocker--Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, Foreigner, Heart, Pink Floyd..etc. Today driving to work I was listening to "Money" by PF and the acousitics in my car is much better since I worked on sound deadning. The bass on Money was awesome. Coming home this afternoon, I was listening to "Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC...Hell yeah!!!!

Order you some Damplifer Pro from www.secondskinaudio.com and put it in your trunk and on the metal shelf that holds the speakers, and you will have yourself some solid bass instead of a rattling thump thump coming out of the trunk. I just did most of my car in Damplifer Pro and it is nearly as quiet on the inside as a Lincoln! All I hear now is my music and the music of that 4.6L.

BTW, knock on wood, my Shaker 1000 is doing fine. I use TDK CD-Rs in mine with MP3 format, and for CD format, I use Memorex Music CD-Rs.

As for CD versus the Radio (FM). The dynamic range on FM is 50-15000Hz meaning you lose low bass and higher frequencies. The average human ear can hear from 20-20000Hz, and that is exactly the dynamic range of a CD. BTW you have good ears to notice the difference (and I bet they're cute too)

Here are some pictures of my Damplifer project.

Here are some pixes of my sound deadning project. Holler back if you wanna see more. Yeah, I know I need to 86 those crappy stock speakers...

Thx,

Mike

Salt Shaker 500 here. I have to say that very few stock systems that I have ever heard have sounded better. Not sure if any really did... The 500 is a good compromise for the dough. I would not order it as extra in a "deluxe" but welcome it in the "premium" package.
