Default Warrenty work

I made an appointment today for the local Ford dealer to fix what ails my car: popping noise on turns, heat blows out of defrost when on floor heat, and fuzzy passenger side speaker. Have any of you guys had any of these problems fixed and if you did what kind of run around did you get if any? I only know of a TSB for the first problem I listed. Just curious what your exspericances have been.

If you do have a problem, get on the phone with Ford. They seem to be more than willing to pressure their dealers about warrany stuff if a customer is getting the run around. I don't see why they would, since it's an easy buck for them.

I have the same problem with the defrost....it wouldn't be bad if the blower wasn't so noisey My rear end and drivetrain sounds like SHI**

that sucks about the heater... I have the same problem and I was going to take it in, but I guess they're not going to do anything about it.

Putting it on mixed vent/floor and closing all the vents works OK though....

The popping noise is a problem with the bearings and struts they don't quite match up the dealer has a fix you'll be alright on that one. As for the HVAC I haven't noticed a problem but lots of folks have. But then again its a ford climate control system on a non luxury car. I wouldn't expect too much. I have read that turning the system to the off position and back on again actually gets it working properly again.

Update: The pieces for fixing the strut/turn popping problem are on order. The dealer couldn't make the speaker replicate the buzz, and the heater problem is a "common charecteristic" whatever that means. Anyway the popping is the only thing they can fix right now. Funny story, I never windexed my windshield after the last time I went to the strip, just kind of wiped the window marker number 10 off with a rag. Anyway, apparently you can still see the outline from inside the car. When I picked it up the service manager told me it doesn't drag strips and warrent work doesn't mix.

I was told by Ford on two different occassions that they new that the heaters had a problem but there was no fix at the present time. As far as going to the strip remember to wash all those rubber strips from under the rear wheel well before carrying it in for service.
