Hey all! New to this board but not new to bb's! Anyway, I got my 06 GT VERT (automatic) the day after Christmas for $3,000 under MSRP. Was a great deal and I haven't personally known anyone else to find one for this price. I was looking for an 06 GT coupe for a friend, and the best the stealership would offer was $1,000 under invoice (This was a different dealership than the one I purchased my VERT at).

Did you mean a $1000 under MSRP on the 06 GT coupe, 06VERT4DE? If you got a deal for a $1000 under invoice, I say take! Just make sure the cars isn't a recondition one.

One other tip. Try to find a highly staturated metro market to buy in with at least 3 or 4+ dealerships with in ~25 radius. Here in my part os the US - Austin, Houston and Dallas all hit the mark.

Also go the Ford.com and check all the dealer invertory and call them and try to bargain. The GT I order in Austin got delayed and I had a car indentified in Dallas exactly like the one I order. I call the dealer in Dallas and talked them in to X-plan pricing if I drove up there (about a 3 hour driver for me). However, I got word on my order car the next (finally) so I hung on for the car I ordered.

Also, be realistic on the deal you expect. The dealerships do have to pay the bills to stay open. Anyway any of them can do X-plan and survive. If you can get better go for it, but its hard on hotter cars. I have gotten super smokin' deals on more mundane cars such as my wifes Focus sedan.

I got mine with the X-Plan pricing. Sticker was 29.2K and I paid 27,080. Basicly fully loaded GT auto but with the shaker 500 since I am putting in a NAVI soon. It was the easiest purchase of a car ever. I called and asked it they would take an X-plan he verified with the manager. I told him the options and color etc I wanted and he didn't have one but he called me the next day and he had gone out and brought in the car. I went in the next day, wrote the check and was out of there. FYI if you are interested in extended Ford waranty they have a X-Plan discount price on that as well. I got my X-Plan Pin from a very nice guy on RV.net

I just ordered an 06 GT. Signed the order form with the selling price written on it and then discovered this X-plan possibility. Is it too late to get the plan? Its not all the final paperwork, just the order agreement.

According to the dealership I dealt they have to refund your deposit and the order agreement isn't binding. Of course, always read the fine print on what you signed. That should provide the the real answer in your case.

I was able to get $400 below MSRP on the GT Premium I ordered (but haven't received or paid for yet, expect a $500 deposite). I got $300 off with my Costco membership and another $100 off after I told the salesman that another dealer offered me $500 below sticker (a dealer I was unhappy with so I wan't going to buy there anyways).
