Anyone know what grade of aluminum the body is made of?

What aluminum? I just saw a thread that mentioned the hood but after welding I can tell you that the fenders and decklid are steel.

It can only be 22ga at the most, it's thin! Some good places under the decklid to measure it if you have a guage.

I don't know about the fenders and decklid, but I can tell ya that the roof sheetmetal is super thin. I had a pecan fall out of a tree and put a nice ding in my roof! I'm not too happy about that, I had a tree branch fall onto the roof of my 98 once and it didn't even scratch it.[:'(]

i have a small ding in my hood from something falling on it. it really pisses me off
