Default Using Xcalibrator2

Okay, Nooby question here. I got the tuner but I don't know how to use it.
It says I need to disconnect the fuel pump and electric fan fuses, were/how do I do this?

Thanks for the help.

you dont have to...that is just a safety thing. i have programmed 3 different fords i own that all say to disconnect various fuses. never did and needless to say, nothing bad happened.

however...in the event that you have a history of bad luck and this could be that one in a million chance of something bad happening, the fuses are under the hood in your fuse box and you can locate them by using your manual. the slots are numbered so you just have to locate it in the manual and pluck the fuse that corresponds to that number.

but seriously, you dont need to disconnect anything. just plug it in, program, and have fun

Yes, the instructions are a little skimpy.

I'm not encouraging you to do the same, but when I saw that step I recalled some other people on the forum saying they didn't do it either...so I also ignored that step and programmed it. Just follow the prompts on the display. I did that this weekend and all worked like it was supposed to.

What flexability does this thing have for shift firmness. I don;t want to change the shift RPM's just tighten it up a bit.

Does it have several levels of firmness? My car is stock so i don;t need and fuel or timing calibrations.

You have to get your dealer to change the shift firmness to what you want. It comes with three programs that you can have the dealer make for you. I have the Xcal2 with the Pro Racers package which means I have full access to the EEC and can change anything I want without having to go through the dealer as long as I know what to change. But to answer your question, with just the Xcal2, no you can't change shift firmness.

Give Fred a call at Evolution Performance. 610 485 3596 He can give you some tire burning shifts! You might want to tell him to set you up with his performance program with the Xcal2 but leave the drive by wire factory. That's is what causes too fast an idle. Tell him Larry sent you.
