Default Progress Report

OK, installed the FRPP short throw shifter today. Man, oh man, is that a completely different feel. The throw was supposed to be about 30% shorter then stock, but it feels more like 50% shorter. It also has a much tighter feel then the stock shifter. This will definitely take a bit of time to get used to, but I can now bang thru the gears a whole lot faster (yes, of course I had to go try to bang thru the gears right away)! The tricky part appears to be having to downshift (especially 5th to 4th) as it's much harder to find the proper gate with the shortened throw. I'm sure with a little time to get used to the new feel of the shifter it'll become second nature again.

Also, my 4.10 gears and install kit from Brenspeed arrived today. As anxious as I am to get them put in, I've learned from experience to leave ring and pinion changes to the professionals. Anyone have an estimate on what it should cost to have them installed on my '06 GT?

My SLP Loudmouths are on back-order with BrenSpeed. Should hopefully come in this upcoming week. Everythign I've heard is that they install easily with hand tools, so I may get those on the car very soon.

My FRPP shorty headers are on their way to Jet-Hot to get coated in cast iron grey. I figured it was smart to get them coated now since they're stainless steel and we all know what those will look like after they get hot for the first time. I also figured if they were the same color as the exhaust manifolds they're replacing, they'll be less noticable.

I'm still looking around for the best deal I can find on a Diablo tuner and C&L cold air system; If anyone hears of a killer deal on this package let me know (hey, I have to try and save a few bucks where I can...);

The replacement hood from RK Sport should be here later this week, so I can finally get the body mods on the car. I can't wait to see her with all the new parts installed.

All in all, it's been a fairly good week. I think I probably spent more this week on parts then I should have, but what can I say I'm addicted to modifying the car (and of course it doesn't help that I have absolutely no patience or will power).

your gonna have a nice set up. Christmas came early for you. Dont know if you'd be interested but you said your looking for a deal on a CAI, I have a Steeda CAI for an 05 GT I'm trying to sell, I barely even used it, I had to remove it when I got my SC installed. Let me know if your interested, normally they go for in the area of 299 but I'll let it go for $225.
