Default headlights

So the stock headlights are pretty dim overall with night driving, I decided to get some direct H13 xenon replacements and I put those in today.

The actual beam of light is a much purer white color vs the yellowish stock color, but overall they are about the same with the amount of light visibility they produce on the roadways. (The aftermarket lights are the same wattage as stock)

Are these bulbs overall just weak with regards to light output, is the headlamp assembly poor for projecting light, is there a better brand bulb, HID to purchase or am I just asking for too much?

Thanks

they are worse since they just have blue paint on them. get an HID kit from retrosolutions. Should be much better.

you just bought bulbs. that have xenon written on them since they are blue. they are just the same bulbs you took out as far as brightness go. Only way to get brighter light is to put actualy HID lights in there.

I've always put silverstar in my cars. Huge difference as far as just a bulb change goes.

I drove out at night in the rain for the fist time last night in my '10..I swear I could have easily drove right off the damn road. Couldn't see a damn thing, no lines, curbs, nothing. Definitely upgrading to the silverstars as soon as I get it back from the garage. Aftermarket fogs as well.

I went with the 5000k HID kit from retro solutions. Headlights and fogs..... HUGE difference and you will see everything with no problem at all. They also offer bulb capping which reduces glare so if you go with them make sure you get the bulb capping also. Here's a shot of mine right after I got my car last July. It was the first mod I did. The light pattern looks a little scattered because they didn't do the bulb capping at the time, but since getting a new set with the caps on them the light pattern is perfect.

It's very easy. The kit from retrosolutions comes with all the wiring you will need. The bulbs slide into the same spot that the factory bulbs are. Just hook up the wiring and mount your ballasts and you're gold.

Those aren't available in H13, only regular SilverStars are.

plus according to consumer reports and my own 2 eyes, silverstars look brighter but actually reduce vision due to the coating on the glass of the bulb. Plus dont fall for silverstars before and after. All it is is a standard bulb on a crappy cars low beams, and then the after shot is a new cars highbeams. Plus if you read the fine print of silverstars, you will notice the life of these 50 dollar bulbs is not very long at all. About 6-8 months if your lucky, and it also says this. "Headlights dim over time by 20% or more and timely replacement results in increased lighting performance"
