Default installing clear side markers

Ok help a guy who isn't great with working on cars.

I got the clear side markers and I undid the fender/bottom plastic lip.
I got my hand up to side marker on the inside and undid the bulb.
Then I tried every which way I could think to push/pull/pry that SOB out of there to no avail!

I couldn't feel any tabs or anything that I needed to release in there. Someone please guide on popping these pesky things out before I tear my car up. Thanks as always!

Are we talking the fronts? On my GT when I removed them for the front fascia swap I had to remove (2) nuts on each marker light.

Yes I'm sorry we are talking fronts. Where exactly where the two nuts.

I couldn't see the back of the marker but can get my hand on it.

Are they attached to those to male parts that are on each end of the light?

Thanks!

Exactly, you need a wrench with an open or closed end, i think it was 10mm. Reach in there, the nuts are more like metal sleeves than normal nuts, but they turn like normal nuts to loosen. keep them, you will need them to reattach the new blinkers. also you don't need to undo the fender liners. All you have to do is remove the plastic aero tray as ford calls it. Its the black plastic piece under the front bumper of the car and spans the length of the front bumper under the motor, the same one you remove to change the oil. Look in the manual under changing bulbs to get a better idea. It's very easy once you get the aero tray thing off the front of the car, i think its like 6 5mm bolts that hold it on. whole process took like 30 min.

This thread was exactly what I was looking for; thanks for the detailed info.

I ordered clear side markers off eBay and installed them last night. The hardest part was finding where all the nuts were for the 'plastic aero tray'.

Sounds like it's different for the 2010s, but the 2011's aero tray is secured by 7mm nuts, not 5mm. If I remember correctly, there are 3 in the back, 1 for each of the wheel wells, and 4 along the front bumper; 9 total. Once that piece is off, there is plenty of room to get your head underneath the bumper and be able to unscrew the sidemarkers, which also uses 10mm nuts.

I'll try to post some pics soon.
