Default 20" wheel question

I bought a set of 20x8 wheels for my honda accord then... the next week I bought a 2010 mustang 4.0. My question is I have the 20x8.5 on my Stang with Nitto NTT 555Extreme 225/35/20 and I know that my tires are wayyy to small and I wanted some advice. I know that the wheel depth is not Ideal but I dont wanna just sell the set as I just got them. What zise tire should I put on these wheels. I went to my local tireshop and he offered 550.00 out the door for the same NT555 255/35/20. Is this a good size I know they are good in diameter as opposed to what I have now but I am just looking for insight. Also how much larger will the tire be because with the tires I have now its not filling the wheel well as much as I would have liked and I may have to lower. Any help is appreciated Thanks

First congrats on the new car! Second, be sure the current wheels will even work for your new car, because there is a difference in rims for a front wheel drive car and rear drive cars. The lug dimensions must match as well as the wheel offsets! Now on to tire sizes to fill the space, I know on my '10 v6 it looked like you could pass a coke can tall item between the tire and fender well in the rear! With the 20's it looks much better I have 255x35x20 up front and 275x35x20 rear 8.5 wide front and 10 rears and looks great! Now the rearend looks a lot less like a 4x4

Thanks! The wheel is FWD/RWD when I bought them and the lug size is 5*114.3 so im cool there i already have them on the stang. The offset is 35 or 42(i cant remeber exactly) so they sit nice inline with the fender with room for lowering.

is 8.0 to small (20x8) will it casue any adverse effects/damage

Here is a pic

Car looks good. The tire you should go with is a 245 35 20 or a 255 35 20. Any one of these tires will work good with your stang.
