window tint - how dark should i go?

actually the whole UV blocking is the whole point, that is if you like to preserve your dash and leather seats.

i have mine about as dark as you can get it and also have my windshield tinted, not just a strip, the windshield. you cant see in my car at all, when i see a cop i roll my windows down. i think i have had it for about a year, i live in florida, the sun is so damn strong anything less seems like there isnt any tint at all. there are some pics in my garage.

In Cali, the front side windows are limited to 70% (sigh), but I'll getting 35%. If it's darker and the cops actually have trouble seeing you, they will pull you over.
Conversely, I plan to roll down the windows when I see po-po.

keep it legal. most states have a 30-35% tint low on the front windows...the rear windows run anywhere from black-out to 35% as well in cars.
If you go with a darker tint, anything darker than 20% makes seeing at night problematic. I had 15% on my Durango and had to drive at night with the windows down. it was too dark in the city to see sidewalks & pedestrians.
just a FYI. it looks cool, but there are sight limitations to it as well
