On my '11 GT, there is a piece of paper covering my VIN number on the driver's side VIN display area underneath my windshield. Question is: is the VIN # supposed to be covered or did something fall down my dash covering it up?

 

You should be able to read it from the outside of the windshield. Strange that it got covered. Must be a factory oops.

the vin on the dash should be able to be read.
BTW the majority of all vehicles do have a hidden VIN for when a vehicle is stolen and the visible VINS are changed law enforcement knows where these VIN's are to verify if it is the vehicle in question.
