17" rims for 2010 Mustang GT Premium
Hi folks,
I have a 2010 Mustang GT Premium and am looking for one more set of rims for winter tires.
I was thinking that, because I might easily slide off to a road-side curb in icy winter conditions and damage large rims, I better go for a smaller set of 17 x 8 inch rims. Simply to put more rubber around rims. (I would go for anthracite Bullitt wheels: http://www.americanmuscle.com/anthra...heel-17x8.html)
I would use the tire size 245/55/R17, which gives a very slight difference in the wheel diameter compared to the standard 245/45/R19 my Mustang came with.
I know that V6 comes with 17 inch wheels, but I am not quite sure whether 17 inch wheels would fit on the 2010 GT Premium. Anybody has an opinion on that?
Cheers,
lron City

i also need the same answer. I have found on the internet, that some of the 17" wheels still would fit 2010 gt's. i want to install 17" x 9.5" American Racing Torq Thrust II, but nobody was able to explain if they fit on 2010 Mustang GT.
I would go any possible modification to have these on my Car. For the offset and backside measuremens these wheels should fit leaving only 0,5 inch space. Is it possible somehow to confirm or decline that information. I was trying to reach somebody from American racing, but manufacturer don't give their contacts on the web.
Thanks for reply if somebody knows how to solve the issue.

17 inch for winter
I am getting 17 inch wheels for my 2010 GT Premium for winter.
I currently have 19 inch withe the Pirelli sumer performance tires. they are 255 / 40 / R19
going to a 235 /55 / R17 for winter.
The overall diameter on the 19 with the 40 aspect ratio is 27"
This will change to 27.1" with the 17 and 55 aspect ratio.
The offset on the OEM wheel is 42mm and I will stay with the 42mm offset with the new rims.
This web site was helpful for making measurements:

I purchased the Wheel and Tire package from Tire Rack.
a lot of research was done on this
Hope this helps.

You dont mention rim width and the offset is a result of rim width.
Where are you getting 17" rims with 42mm of offset and how wide are they.
Are they the same width as the 19" OEM rims?
