it has nothing to do with downforce, you can use those intakes and pipe it over to your brakes to cool them. Ford racing also makes a kit for the GT/CS lower fascia to use instead of the fog lamps.

adidas04, were you talking about the two intakes or the splitter(circled below) in reference to the downforce? I thought that you were talking about the splitter.
As far as the fascia, I think it is pretty cool.

i understand that the ducts are for brake cooling. you can also use them for other cooling applications; steeda offers several other kits for it.

"Aerodymanically functional - improves front downforce" = taken directly from the product discription.

yes, im refering to the splitter's functionality. I was hoping steeda gus would chime in with some numbers here....

Splitters work. The bigger the better for the most part but you have to attach them to some structure or you end up dragging them off. My guess is the Steeda one is not so big as to drag off. So the gains are probably small.

The looks of the bumper is very nice and it has a Ford GT flavor with the rectangular brake ducts.

The hood is an extractor hood designed to pull air from the radiator to keep the engine compartment cooler and lower under hood pressure and lift. If you have had your 2005/09 Mustang up to speed you see the hood flutter and shake the 2010/11 has better belly pan that largely cures this. This hood has vents which would help that and by lowering under hood pressure allow better air flow through the radiator thereby lowering water and under hood temperatures.

i was also assumeing the gains were small too, but i suppose any gain at all is improvment on the road course.

I hadnt really noticed the Ford GT resemblance... i like that...

Cosmetically this fascia makes the car look like more a V6 & GT 500 by making a circular front. I really like the triangular/trapezoid angles of the GT fascia. The ducts in the front are pretty distracting visually to me (in black). The best part of course is that you can do whatever you want to further enjoying your car!

Post some pics if you pull the trigger!

What really makes the scoops look out of place and tacked on is that they're not in line with the rest of the grille assembly. If they were set back like the mesh-work, or if the mesh was at the leading edge of the bumper like the scoops, everything would flow better. As it is, They do look slapped in, and out of place.

There will be some down force, but only at speed. For normal street cruising on a Saturday night or daily driving, or even drag racing (whild still at lower speeds), the downforce is so negligible as to be considered nil.

But at speed, I too what to know the numbers. What speed do you have to be moving at to see significant and useful downforces?

As for the additional cut-out to allow more air to the break disc, I guess that can be definitely useful. But don't the air coming into those ducts have to be directed to go around the tire so air is forced to blow over the disc instead of being diffused by the tire that is in the way?

I think it looks great. How much do you think a reputable shop would charge to paint it?
