Default Has anybody tried a 05/09 hood on a 2010?

I think the only difference is along the front edge over the grill and headlights as far as fit goes not talking about style. If the hood hinges and fender lines are the same it might be possible to modify a 09 hood to fit. I have done some carbon/glass work before and joining the front edge of a 2010 hood to a 2009 hood might get me the custom hood I am looking for. So has anybody tried it to see if it would fit?

I doubt anyone has tried it because the '10+ hood looks orders of magnitude better.

I agree! Why would anyone want to put the old hood on the new body. The new hood looks so much better. Most will either buy an aftermarket hood or leave it aloon. IMO

I want to say the new hood is longer to create that slimmer nose on the 2010. But with some custom fab work i'm sure you could make it look good. i want to say the curve down twords the front is the same but i cant prove it. lol will have to go park next to an 05-09 and take pics lol

Won't fit, the cars look similar excpet for the bumper area, but the fenders are different so the hoods don't cross match. if they did we woudl have a lot more hood options though.

I saw a race car at Rehagen racing with a 2009 hood on a 2011. It fit everywhere except the very front edge was too short. But they used it because it was vented and on the race car that was far more important than the top edge of the grill surround showing. It was surprisingly close, width and curve was spot one. They are having vented hoods made for the 2010+ body style and should have some race ones no inner frame in just a couple weeks and full framed street hoods in a couple months. If you're interested you should let them know.
