Default different glue/ adhesive solutions???

Hey yall i just got some light trims, and im going to spray em black cuz it turns out i didnt like the chrome. im also about to order a carbon fiber decklid panel w/out the emblem hole. i dont think the 3m tape is really that strong, seeing the wax paper is already coming off one of the trims. DOES ANYONE KNOW A STRONGER SAFER AND BETTER WAY I CAN ADD EXTERIOR PARTS TO MY STANG?

thanks! -j.

3M tape is extremely strong and I wouldn't use anything else cause you might run the risk of damaging your paint, trust me I know from experience.

I swapped out my "gas cap" for a different one when I took the rear panel off and it stuck just fine. Plus the wax paper is supposed to come off easily. It prevents the tape from sticking (and staying stuck) to the box or whatever.

Try gorilla glue (sarcasm)

You can get trim tape from any bodyshop supply store. While you're there get adhesion improver it really makes a huge difference. You clean the surface with denatured alcohol then put adhesion improver on the body part then wait for it to dry and stick your trim in place. Once it is in place clean up the excess adhesion improver with more alcohol but be careful not to get the alcohol on the tape.

Just make sure you get the tape and not the adhesive trim glue, most glues are made for permanent install and will damage your paint. As long as you stick with the tape you will be fine, when in doubt just read the package.

3m automotive trim tape. Gray with red peel off stuff. Not the foam based tape. The foam based tape (white with green/white peel off stuff) is not meant for trim applications and will fall off within days/weeks.
