Clutchless Shifting..
#2
If you are able to shift w/o the clutch on a manual, you may have some issues already.. Clutchless shifting can lead to synchro damage in a hurry, and that costs more to repair than a clutch job does. Are you asking about some sort of high-end 11K clutch package or something instead?
Can it be done - yes, can you launch/shift quicker this way - yes. Will you burn out servos trying to learn and maybe a clutch too? Let us know!
S197 is the 05-current 5th generation Mustang designation.

It's not "bad" for the car unless you do something wrong. If you shift at the correct RPM's without a clutch you shouldn't damage anything. Granted, it's generally not a very good technique to use on the road. It's very simple. Rev to around 3.5k, pull the stick out of gear, begin to ease it into second, when the RPM's drop to where second needs to be dropped into gear, pull it into gear. Don't wait, hesitate, go slow, you need to really get it into gear fast otherwise you are gonna grind some teeth.
