Unhappy 2011 5.0 running rich

Hi there,
My 2011 5.0 starting running rich this winter, now that it has started warming up it is no longer running rich. The only mod I have on the vehicle so far is a cold air intake. How do I combat the running rich in the cold?

Move south... Lol... Seriously, how do you know it was running rich? Has anything else changed, e.g. grade of gas, ETOH content, etc...

I think you just answered your question. I'd contact the tuner and have them look it over as long as your running good fuel and nothing else has changed.

If your going to change to a CAI you should tune it, try a Bama hand held! and find a respectable Dyno shop to adjust it

what make you think it's running rich? CAI without a tune will usually lean out the mixture, not make it run richer...

mines running rich too but after the exhaust bama tune and intake. there's been black carbon soot all over the back of my car for some time now...im wondering if an oil seperator will do the trick. Does anyone know if that would be a smart purchase?

Yes they are a smart choice IMO but I don't think it will do anything to clear up the black soot coming out of your exhaust. You might need to email Bama and have them check the A/F parameters to make sure your not running to rich. You shouldn't have excessive soot coming out of your exhaust if its tuned correctly, not enough to coat anything outside the inner portion of the exhaust. Im running the same setup and havn't noticed any increase in soot from when it was stock.
