Default Metra Dash Kit Install

Hello. Feel free to move this thread if it's in the wrong place, but i'm not real sure where to post it at.

Anyway, I added an aftermarket receiver to my 2011 Mustang, and as you folks know, in order to do that you have to replace the dash kit. I replaced it with the Metra dash kit. The kit worked fine for 1.5 days and then it started screwing all up. I've posted a video on youtube of the issue. I'd love for you folks to take a look and see what you think.

Thanks

I don't like how the receiver is at the bottom with these kits.

I have that same exact dash kit and after a month and a half of having it installed, the LCD light just gave out. Mine still displays the text and works great, but the LCD doesn't light up, which makes it impossible to see at night. I emailed Metra about it and after several back and forth emails, the representative ultimately told me that I need to get MY car fixed because they've never heard of their dash kits having any issues. I then contacted another Metra representative, he called me up a few days later, promised to get things resolved because "Metra stands behind their products" and then I've never heard from him to this day. Great way to stand behind their products -__-. I'm gonna give it another try this week and if nothing happens, then I'm gonna try and keep our fellow Mustang lovers informed on how Metra is there to take your money and run.

Wow. Thanks for the info. This kinda stuff kills me. But you haven't had any issues with the climate controls sticking like I had in the video have you?

Tell me about it. It's killing me inside knowing its a pricey piece you're paying for only to have it malfunction so quick. I really hate to say it to you this way, but you have it a lot worse than I do. Mine has never acted up like yours is on that video. How long have you had it installed? And can you give me the name of your video if it's on YouTube so I can keep it as a reference?

Sorry, just read that you barely had it for a day and a half. Once again, you have it a lot worse than I do. At least mine lasted a month and a half. Have you tried contacting Metra?

A day and a half!!!!! A DAY AND A HALF!!!!!!! That's all. Just a day and a half and it went kaput! My username on youtube is "raceman94', the same as the forums here. Crutchfield is sending me a new one and I'm going to have it installed and see what happens. I also sent this video to the Metra tech support. I'd love to hear what they have to say.

Well, its good that you bought yours from a reputable site. I hope everything works out for you. Let me know how it goes. I think I may need to contact the stereo shop that I bought it from. Maybe they can help me out.
