Would you have any issues fitting into your garage with it?

First. I'm a State inspector in MD so I'm just letting those that live in MD because they'll be wasting their money.
Second. it's an advice since I don't know the laws in CA so the right thing to do is to find if it's legal.
Third. This thread is being read by a lot of folks that live in states that it's illegal.

To be honest, I'm shocked that adding a brush guard to the front of a car is illegal *anywhere*.

If you hadn't said something about the OP wanting to look like a cop, I would probably not have even responded. Here in Texas, ex-cop cars are sold to the general public with the brush guards still attached. Like your comment, it has no bearing at all on the OP because he lives in CA...

I was looking into this at one time, but not for practical uses. I wanted to get one like the new edge has in a matte black finish and scratch it up to make it look a little used. People down in FL dont getthe concept of the left lane and I was looking at the intimidation factor behind it haha. Not moving over for faster traffic is my biggest pet peeve and it drives me insane.

I live out in the sticks where there are few (if any) street lights, but there's plenty of livestock, pets, and wildlife roaming around. I had a Crown Vic Sport before I bought my Mustang, and it was dark red like some of the local stealth cop cars. I put on a honeycomb grille (like the cop cars have), so I could mount driving lights behind it to give me more light until I got to a better-lit part of town. That one change was enough to make folks think I was cop, despite the fact that I didn't have the right license plates, a push bar, pillar spotlight, or police wheels. I never once considered adding a push bar because my plan was never to make it look like a cop car.

I've seen a couple of cop Mustangs with pushbars on 'em, and they look out of place, IMHO.
