Default Window Tinting in VA

I'm sure most everyone clicked on this thread thinking it would be another "what's the allowed tint for VA?" That isn't the case.

For the most part my questions are directed at people with military experience and/or people around the Ft. Lee/Petersburg/Colonial Heights/Prince George areas of Virginia.

I own a Black 2013 Mustang with black interior and in light of this massive heat wave sweeping the East, I want to go ahead and get some tint in those windows! So here are the questions:

1. The Ft. Lee Auto Crafts Shop on post contracts out with "Solar Tint." I can't find any type of reviews on them or accounts of people's experiences with them. Has anyone on here gotten their windows tinted through them?

- They offer a lifetime warranty: In your experience does that normally provide a safeguard against a company providing crappy work?

2. From doing research on other forums and even this one, people often say that being in the military will get you out of an incident where a police officer pulls you for your window tint. However, my buddy got pulled over in CA after being at Ft. Irwin for only a week. His vehicle is not registered in CA either.

- I'm thinking of going fairly conservative with the tint so I don't encounter any unwanted attention. What are your thoughts about 50% front side, 35% back window? Is that too little to make a marked difference for me?

3. Does anyone have any other recommendations for great window tinting in the central VA or Piedmont area of NC?

To make it clear, I'm just like everyone else in that I want a good tinting job, not scratch my windows, no damage the rear window defroster, no bubbles, no discoloration (even after a few years) and lastly I want the tint to uphold it's shade value (I dont want to get 35% in the back window now and in 3 years it allow 50% sunlight in).

Thanks!

Carp

...so no veterans on here can comment from personal experiences?
And no one has been to Ft. Lee?
