Default Changing black panel between the taillights to body color

I'm shopping for a performance white 2011-12 Mustang GT convertible. Sometimes the panel between the tail-lights (btw, what is the correct technical term for this?) is body color (in this case, white), and in some cases it is black. I prefer it to be the body color. If I had one in black, how much trouble/money would it be to change to the better looking white?

See attached photos. Thanks!

It's called a decklid panel, don't know the answers to your other questions, sorry!

it's just a panel. you can remove it and white paint will be underneath. it's an OEM option. the one you posted there with a black panel is from a California Special, but other packages offer it, too, and it's a stand alone option

there are aftermarket options for panels like that, as well.

Yup, just a big vinyl sticker. My MCA edition 2011 convertible has the same thing. Should come off with minimal effort, body color paint underneath.
