I think its just fine. I like being able to rest my arm on there and be perfect level with shifter and not have to hold my arm in the way. I dont find it an issue either with the cup holder open.
Now try a Subaru. the Armrest or lack of in the 12 WRX I just got rid of was awful. You had to hold your arm in the air the whole time because the setup reminded me of my old toyota truck. Just another reason I am glad that car is out of my life

Am I missing something here? My boss doesnt have an armrest. Kinda has just a console like the old Fox mustangs with the armrest delete on them. I just lay my arm on the console and shift easily. If I have a cup in the holder than yeah its a pain, but thats the only time. I like it vs. the way my Fox is. The Fox has your arm up in the air and it gets tired after a while. With the Boss I just lay in on the console.
