fyi I cancelled my pre order with C&L as they still aern't ready to ship the kits and I ordered in july with them saying that by the second week of august the kit would ship. Prob just going to wait and see what people get for real world gains out of the MMR and C&L kits before I make up my mind

After seeing pictures from the aftermarket I've been thinking about this alot.
All these kits are is a MAF housing, a length of CAI tubing, a cone filter, and two silicone couplers. I have all these parts sitting on the shelf from other car projects, except for the MAF housing.
The easiest way to get one is to just cut one off of a factory airbox lid, it would even have the PCV fittings already on it, but I dont want to ruin mine and a spare is nearly $300.
Just thinking out loud here.

.i think ford has done a pretty good job allowing the '10 and '11 to breath, yes a aftermarket looks cool and cleaner, buy it for that reason and you won't end up at cruise ins and track defending how much HP you gained, just throwing that out there guys, this is a guy dropped about $4000 into a new GT that never got a blower or going into motor for 16 hp.
I'm in the crowd that doesn't have any issues with the way the stock airbox functions. The car is plenty enough fun for me. They say you live and learn GTJT. At least you know what to look out for now.
What I would really love to see is a video of a stock 4.0 2010 and one with a CAI and tune race and see how much difference there really is.

I installed my MMR intake last week and I will say that there is a hp gain but I highly doubt it's the 17 they claim. I'll say it feels like a solid 10ish whp. It really makes the car feel less restricted, and rev happy. I'm going to try and get it on a dyno next week and get some hard numbers. Overall I'm happy with the intake, however the heatshield design isn't the greatest.

^hey man can you give us a few install pics and a run down on how the install went and the time? Thanks I really like the MMR design because it looks like a straight shot directly to the throttle body and thats a nice big free flowing filter, another quick question man does the factory cold air scoop get reused with the heat shield?

Nice thanks for the pics can you confirm if the heatshield does in fact connect to the factory ram air or does it just block it off? I assume thats prob what you mean when you said heatshield design is not the greatest right?
Thanks again looks real good
