Love my highway mileage

I'm always afraid of that happening to me. Sorry to see this. I hope you can make the truck company pay if possible. At least you can get it fixed and nothing came through your windshield, that is a good thing. MY last mustang before this got the windshield busted to buy a truck coming toward me. I love your picture that is at the bottom of your post, I 've got to learn how to do stuff like that.

Thanks , yeah OUCH......and here just got done detailing windshield , I marked everything where damage was , no marks on car even front end or windshield til today....actually my wife painted that picture below, she does those type paintings in like 2 days, she is good, she painted my car in... $1200 to fix everything, 4 days in shop, they are going to re-clear, fender, hood, roof and even have to replace stripe that says mustang due to having to do all the stuff back to original, and they do a lot of cars, TRUE2FORM and this is first '11 car let alone a stang lol...so they want get it right....glass guy here in morning.

In over 9630 miles since new, my average MPG is 29.61 ... however, from the time I finally broke 30 MPG 7617 miles ago, MPG average is 30.48 MPG. Best I've gotten on a tank was 33.67 MPG (all highway). All figures are hand calculated ... miles divided by gallons put in ... MPG on car's computer are typically 4~6% lower.
This is a V6 Premium MCA pkg. M/T car with 2.73 gears and no mods yet.
Driving is 75% interstate with cruise set @ 75 MPH, another 10-15% is 65~85 MPH w/o cruise and balance is stop & go city driving.
Stop & Go city driving is spirted off the line but once running in traffic I upshift to run between 1000-1500 RPM's ... 5th @ 30~35 MPH, 6th @ 40+ MPH.
As far as fuel, I've been running G100 (Ethanol Free) 91 Octane since new.
Drove my 2004 V6 5-Spd similarly and average mileage over 122k miles was 26.07 MPG.
It is just unbelievable that this 2011 with 100 more HP, 300~400 lbs heavier, and 10mm wider tires all around is getting 17% better MPG's.
Drove my son's 2002 Cavalier one summer (115HP 2.2L I4 / AT, 2676 lbs.) and averaged only 31.57 MPG. To think I'm around 1 MPG shy of this with 190 more HP, 825 lbs more weight, and 40mm wider tires all around !!
SCT says their flash tuner is good for 1-2 MPG plus it really wakes up this motor ... hmmmm, tempting.

Excellent. Ethanol-free premium gas should actually give you more MPG if you don't actually make use of the extra horsepower. Whether that is worth the extra $$$ I don't know.
I think even without a tune, the 3.7 works just like 5.0. The adaptive knock sensors should increase the hp and tq about 10.
I just hunt down some down myself and trying the BAMA 91P tune. I'll tell you guys how that MPG changes.

Wow, sorry to see your Mustang get ate up like that. I hate dump trucks, especially those blasting down the highways with no covers over the bay or mud flaps on the rear tires. I am amazed sometimes of the crap that is carried on our Interstates. For example, tow trucks carrying cars so damaged that parts are flapping in the wind. When I see stuff like that I either take the next exit or try to hurry and pass the SOBs. You would think there would be some kind of legislation on the way junk is hauled on our busy highways.
