Default Just a few things to look out for.

Surely after a decade of refinement Ford should have worked the bugs out.

On to the point, my last car was a V6 engined Lincoln LS 3.0 Duratec. There were various problems under the hood that were common. I thought it might be beneficial to those here just to be on the lookout.

Valve Cover Gasket - would leak oil into plug wells and/or on the outside of the block. It was more of a problem for the 3.9L V8, but I dealt with it once, and would rather not again.

Coil on Plug Boot - would leak water into plug wells.

Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose - 90° rubber hose under the upper intake would suffer from heat and rot away in the elbow, causes engine to run lean IIRC.

Dual Climate Control Valve - solenoid within would fail causing temp to differ from side to side, I'm not sure how climate control works on the Mustang since I don't have it.

Thats all I can think of right now. Hopefully we won't have to deal with them, I did the work on it fixing all of the problems listed above, some are not easy but not hard, others (DCCV) are a major PITA. The basic design looks similar enough to me to keep me vigilant, just as if I were still driving the LS.
