Can anybody explane why I would be smelling anti freez through my air vents with no obvious coolent leaks on floor?

From different threads on different car model's I've read. And a mild suspicion I have concerning my mom's Alero with a similar symptom. I'd get the heater core checked. it could be leaking on an exhaust component or some other part or sheetmetal in the engine bay.


Also, did you check to see if the coolant levels have dipped compared to before? is the level below the "properly filled" line? The reservoir is transparent so it should be easy to see.
