Default Rattling Noise

I have a 2007 mustang that makes a rattling type noise whenever I drive 55 mph. If I drive below or above 55 mph, my mustang does not make that noise. It sounds like there is a plate that is loose, but when you open the hood, nothing appears loose. The car doesn't shake, it just makes that noise at 55 mph. The sound seems to come from behind the A/C unit. I'm not sure what to do about this. Any advice? Thanks.

I have heard a couple of strange noises as well (I have a 2012). I only hear them occasionally, one sounds like it is right under the stearing column and it is little rattle like connector tapping on the plastic trim and the other sounds like a loose pc of sheet metal somehwere on the passendger side? I have heard each sound about 3 times, always on the freeway at 65 of so. I have looked around to see what could be making these noises and I have come up with nothing.

as for the OP, is the tapping noise right behind the gauge cluster? only happens between like 50 and 65 mph? check with your local ford dealer about a TSB regarding that. i had a 2007 Ford Fusion and there are some metal pipes that run underneath windshield wipers, towards the back of the engine compartment. Ford realized they needed to insulate those pipes to prevent them from rattling. since your have a 2007 mustang, maybe the problem is similar. took my ford dealership a day to fix because they gotta move a buncha crap out of the way in the engine compartment to get to it.

i hope that helps OP!
