Default Weird Noise

Sup guys,
So I have this weird whining noise when I start my car sometimes. When I hear it I rev my engine just a tad bit and it goes away. But when I release the pedal the whining noise comes back. After driving my car a couple of feet it goes away. I started to think it could be the alternator or it could be my exhaust pipes. Again, the noise doesn't happen every time I start my car; it happens randomly. Thoughts? suggestions?

Its your belt tensioner actually... I currently have the same problem, however, every time I bring it to the dealer, the noise, GOES AWAY. Most annoying thing I have ever had to deal with... I told them the noise, explained when and how it sounds, and the mechanic said it is most likely the belts. (I even left it there overnight, and it didn't make the noise, but driving it home, it did.)

The noise goes away as your engine heats up and the belts starting to set in to place, (Best way I can really put it) but will whine like a bitch if you floor it as soon as you start the car. (Most of the time.)

Hope this helped.

Would this be an issue in the future? I'm afraid if I bring it to the dealership they wouldn't know what I am talking about or they would just tell me not to worry about it.

There is actually something on the ford technical board about it I think... That's how the mechanic at the shop I went to confirmed what I said it was, but he couldn't work on it because it wasn't making the noise then. Now it does a lot, because I drive it like twice a week. And I don't think it will be an "issue" for a while, but still annoying. (Plus they should never tell you just to not worry about it, especially with a car under warranty.)

Thanks for the advice! I will check out that technical board and maybe approach it that way.

I have a weird noise front the front of my car at idle but took it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. So I'll just keep driving it and maybe its just me

I got the same problem, any solution out there?
I replaced the belt and the idler that is located next to the alternator.
The idler was from napa. Noise went away for couple of days but came back.
So I replaced the idler with the original ford one (cheaper than napa's).
Two days now without the noise but I fear it might come back.
Any ideas?

I was told that the initial whine from the belt tensioner is normal.
Funny story: A guy at the local Advanced Auto heard me start my car. He preceded to walk over and ask me what pulley size I was running on my blower. I chuckled (as it shrunk) and told him what it was. Being a nice guy, he complimented the car and walked away. Never looked at what he was driving.
As I'm pulling out, he's making smoke from the tires on his '13 GT500.

I HAVE THIS PROBLEM TOO...but i highly doubt Ford will do anything as it does not cause any damage...yet. This is exactly why I'm not doing an engine tune/x-pipe/pro charger till after my warranty runs out...

Also, when I drive the car easy, there is another noise below 3.5k rpm that I can't even describe. It isnt high pitched it...just sounds...different but I have bbk shorties and idk if that made the difference.
