Question - what is the difference between ceramic and non-ceramic (besides the $100 price tag haha).

The ceramic ones are suppose to keep the under the hood temps lower, and shouldn't rust out. I talked to a guy at CJ pony parts and he said it only really helps if they are coated on the inside and the outside . Also the ceramic ones are suppose to stay the same color, unlike the chrome ones which change with use.

On the good news side, all the intake side pieces for my project have arrived, and since I ordered my tuner from them and have free tunes for life, I ordered a set of tunes for just those parts. Now I just need some time alone in the garage!

So why did I want the ceramic coated shorties?

Ever brushed your knuckles on a chromed set after a long track session?

'Nuff said!

Don't know about the chrome ones - just trying to save my skin...literally!

So basically you dont burn your hands as bad when you grab a hot header and they stay shiny...I think I will keep the extra $100 and use it somewhere else.

american muscle has
bbk chrome tuned length shorty headers (11-14 v6)
the same picture as
bbk chrome tuned length shorty headers (05-10 v6)
also same pic for the ceramic (11-14 v6)
as the ceramics for the (05-10 v6)
whats up with that?
Is the firing order the same?
Should they look the same?

The 05-10 headers cant be the same as the '11+ headers. Completely different motors (4.0 vs 3.7). Not sure what is going on over at AM. Make sure you get '11-'14 headers.

They might look similar but they will be different.

Also did anyone buy these yet and install them? I am waiting for some feedback before I order them.

Can you use the shorty headers with the stock h-pipe? or would it require the bbk x-pipe as well?

Also, if I were to get the x-pipe, can I reuse my stock cats? I live in california so cats are required.
