3.7 shorties
#31
I got the long tube headers and put them on with the bbk catted xpipe. I did it in my garage with 2 jackstands and a friend. It took awhile, but it wasn't that bad. getting the old stuff off was a pain because of rust and stuff, but the new stuff bolted right on no problems. They made a noticeable difference in power, and the exhaust is a little louder than stock but not to much (everything is still stock from the xpipe back on mine).

I am not sure the shorties will even be worth it honestly.
Will there be a power gain? Sure, otherwise they wouldn't make them. But a ported exhaust manifold might do just the same.
I know a member on here had the lethal x-pipe dyno vs the BBK Longtubes and the long tubes only had 5 more RWHP and 5 less RWTQ. This 3.7 motor is a little beast but really lacks with down low torque where we need it the most.
IMO Investing in 3.73 gears is the best sweet spot for 1/4 mile times, with the 4.10 you have to do one last shift at the end.

The only YouTube video I found had an aftermarket catback with resonators welded in. His setup sounded great, but its hard to tell how much of the sound was the headers. I'd like to hear them on an otherwise stock car for first impressions, so if anyone is planning on these as a first exhaust mod, please get a video for us? Pretty please?
