2011 Water Pump Replacement
#11
Looks as if I need the BRZ3-8501-G water pump.
However what I got in a kit (kit labeled on box # BR3Z-8501) was...
BR3E-8501-NA (# stamped on) water pump... with a gasket on the pump already.
A package labeled BR3Z-8501 with:
Another new gasket in a bag....
a new seal 7T4Z-8590..
and the new hose with the check valve.
Both new gaskets look exactly alike, however, old gasket is slightly different from both new gaskets.
I guess main question here is:

What did Ford change on this TSB? I know they put a check valve into the hose that goes to Degas bottle, but is the water pump significantly changed or just the slight difference that I see in the gasket?

jz78817,
thx for the help, I did finally figure it out and came to the same conclusion, however it is nice to get it confirmed by someone in the know.
Got all the parts on and just have to fill it with coolant and a nice test drive, then on to fix my F-250 diesel fan clutch, but thats another story for another forum..LOL
Thx guys for the help on this one, I'll be back with more questions, I'm sure of it, after I fix the Diesel...

The TSB was from 2014 I believe, so the hose would of changed around that time frame.
The new hose has a metal ring around it just after the bend from the degas bottle, thats the check valve, if no mental ring no check valve, from what I am seeing anyway.

I think it was about mid year in 2014, check valve prevents it from sucking air off of the top of the radiator and burning up the seal running it dry.

Thanks, guess I'll have to pop the hood this weekend and see what I have

Happy Ending
Experienced the early failure (28,500 mi.) on my 2013 3.7L V6. My local dealership (Brandon Ford, Tampa, FL) covered the problem under the powertrain warranty using the new TSB-16-0074 that supercedes TSB-14-0212.
They replaced the pump and the degas hose (new one has a check valve). They also took care of the Takata air bag recall for me. So, my experience with this issue was much more satisfying than some I have read about.
My thoughts about this problem are along the lines of: Hey FOMOCO, how come you can't design a trouble free cooling system after over 100 years of making cars ????
