Fuel injected or Carbed??
What the difference if i go with fuel injection or carbed with my 351w? What are the dis-advantages to going with or without either one. Its already carbed, so which one in your opinion is better and why? thanks

RE: Fuel injected or Carbed??
carbed pros:
already set-up, cheaper, easier to self tune
carbed cons:
not as fuel effiecent, hard to pass emmissions test,
tune will have to be adjusted from time to time, harder to add s/c
EFI pros:
more fuel effiecent, more streetable in that computer monitors idle and mixture and all that
works with super charger easier
EFI cons:
requires tech. to burn new chip if not full dyno-tune, more expensive

RE: Fuel injected or Carbed??
stick with a carb, just dont buy a barry grant
buy a good holley of your choice
barry grants are not worth the box they are shipped in, but everyone has their opinions
fuel injection? i callem fuel INFECTED

RE: Fuel injected or Carbed??
FI pros: Easier starting, better MPG, easier to turbo, and non roots s/c
Cons:Expensive, more parts to fail (O2's, injectors, TPS,ETC.)
Carb pros: Easy to tune, inexpensive, less wiring (if any at all), already there, better throttle response, also easier to super charge w/ roots style blower
Cons: Fuel economy,
With a properly tuned carb there really isnt that much difference over the FI other than gas milage, another plus to a carb is its REALLY EASY to tune, not to mention its a lot faster, also about the timing comment someone else posted what they said was false because the distributor will not turn or jump a tooth on a carbed setup anymore than it would on an FI setup. So basically if you need to adjust the timing on a carbed model youll also need to adjust the FI model.
-P.
PS: Edelbrock makes good carbs also.

To me.........
Your already running a big engine, why would it matter if carb or injection is going to matter on the MPG.
