RE: 351w help
redline is about 6,000rpm so worries there.
351W and 351C are different and will not bolt up the same
351W has more in common with the 5.0L 302's
351W will bolt up to any 5.0L trans., as far as your late model
V6 you will probably need a new trans. T-5's with super alloy gears run about $900
Good set of heads and cam and such will get you 400+hp at the crank or about 325+/-rwhp
stock 351W made about 275hp at the crank
you can also stroke it out later to 408

RE: 351w help
the absolute biggest problem with stock 351's is the garbage cylinder head, you will be hard pressed to make any signifigant increase in power with that head. The most economical thing you can do is one of two things. Find a set of old D0OE heads or use a gt40 302 head and drill the bolt hole to 1/2 inch since 302's use a 7 1/6 head bolt. Thats what I would save my pennies for. Then you can step up the cam a bit, until then your not going anywhere
