Flat top pistons with Heads

RE: Flat top pistons with Heads
using the 5.0 flat top with the valve relief eyebrows will work fine as the pin placement on the 5.0 takes care of the clearance at the deck.
U can always bolt the heads up and check clearance once u decide on the lift on your cam with some clay.Mine were fine, using RHS 190cc runners,
2.02-1.84 valves, no clearance problem., but check her out before it's fired up. Good motor, easiest building stroker out there, no clearancing on the crank clearance makes it cheaper at the machine shop.

You do realize flat top pistons on a 393 is going to run like 12-1 compression
unless you're using heads with BIG combustion chambers, right?
Need at LEAST a 200cc head a 393 to make good power.
Plan on having to notch the pistons too

missed the flat-top wit NO EYEBROWS,in ur message, dont think these will work unless u are using
stock cam, and I am sure that is not the case. Sorry misread ur first posting.

RE: Flat top pistons with Heads
I agree with R.Barn, I have never really thought sub 200cc heads were a good choice for 351 stroker motors, just my experience. And 2.02 valves with flat tops with no reliefs is no good. The cam you will have to run to produce any power at all in that motor will make a good attempt at jamming a valve through your piston. You need to notch, period.
