Finished swaping my 351 into my car. On the test drive the car just died. No power to anything. Poped the hood and found that the lead frow the alternater to the battery was burnt. Any thoughts? Bad ground? At work for the next week so i cant mess with it. Just looking to see what yall thought about it.
Just may have been a split or somthing in the wire to make it burn itself out. Just fix the section of wire or get a new harness to fix it and see what happens. I have always heard that the way Ford did the wiring on the alternators allows heat to built up and possibly burn. That is one reason that the 3G's have the pos. on the alt being a post and a thick wire.
