SN-95 stock hood clearance with a 351W
Will the stock hood on my 94 GT be a problem when I install a 351? I have seen the sticky's they say get a cowl hood but I am sure a Fox body owner probly wrote it and mostly foxes do the conversion. I have also read that the sn-95 stock hood is not a problem.
Now the second thing, if I need a hood I want a 3.5 in cobra R hood, cervanis has one as well alot of other company's. What do you guys do about putting the insulation on the aftermarket hoods? Do most come with it?
Do you re-attach your existing? which would be kinda tough on some of those aggressive 4in + cowl hoods.
Thanks

nope, the engine and hood will sit far enough away from each other that it wont matter... and if you get a vented hood (vented at the cowl) the hot air wont get trapped in the engine bay, and will escape

i have a 92 tbird which is about the same basic setup as the sn95s
i have a 351w fuel injected under the stock hood... everybody said it wasn't possible, im the first to do it as far i know.
I cut my motor mounts 1" and I shimmed my k-member to chassis .5". I also had to raise my hood mount .25"
anyway its all said and done and just barely clears by a **** hair.
