Default 351w information help

Does anyone know about a 1985 bronco motor, as far as specs and ratings and is a good enough engine to run with. As of right now i just want to know is a gain over my 302 with the 351 stock. The engine cast is E4AE 6015 FA 28 if anyone couldn help me out that would be great. thanks

its a hydraulic flat tappet motor, and it doesnt make more power than you have right now.

The money that it would take to put it in, doesnt justify the loss of power, and increased weight of the swap

sure its a gain over the 302, the extra torque alone is worth it! plus youll have a great foundation to build off of. completely stockthe windsor is pretty corked up, from the cast iron intake, cylinder heads and puny exhaust manifolds, a windsor loves to breath and if you let it breathe with better induction it will make some serious power, so dont expect a whole lot in stock form, just remember the potential it has. good luck

Does anyone know about any heads that are swappable for the 351, thats off diff. engines. or will porting 351 heads be worth the work.

any windsor head will work, but stock OEM heads arent really worth it.

If you buy 302 heads, you need to have the head bolt holes drilled out to 1/2"

and porting the heads you have... serious waste of time

an 85 motor isnt really the best choice if you want performance right out of the box..a 302 ho is honestly better. even if you got the 351ho motor from 85 it only has 210hp and 305 ft lbs. 88 up engines have 210hp and 315 tq. unless you plan on doing a heads/cam/intake on the 351 it isnt really worth it.

Pop the heads off, cc the dish in the piston and then buy a nice set of heads(street heats) with small enough combustion chambers to get the compression up. Install a good cam headers and a good carb and the 351W will come alive.

Just something to think about. "If you can get an engine to make 1.5 horse power per cubic inch, what engine will make more power?? A 351W or a 302?""

Joe.
