Default Timing Issue 351W

I have a quick question: I recently replaced my intake manifold seals and put my motor back together. Everything was working great until recently. My points slipped and I had to re-gap and time the motor to 6-8 degrees ODC. The motor starts up and runs great, as long as I don't touch the accelerator. Every time I do the motor lungs like its missing. I have gone around to everything I can think of and can't find the problem. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Weird. Does your carburetor have an automatic choke? If not, and I'm not familiar with the older cars as much, but you may have to adjust it for the motor to run properly. It almost sounds like its being flooded
