Default Question for the auto folks...

Or to anyone else who might be in the know. I was parked, idling last night waiting for Mrs to come out of the store. I noticed that if I stepped on the brake pedal, the shifter would CLICK (audible too) back and forth.

Not sure if this is the norm and I've just never noticed it before in any other auto tranny car with the shifter on the console before. Or is it something that needs to be looked at by the shop?

Any clues or input would be appreciated.

Yeah, all of them do it as far as I know. It clicks to because it's unlocking the shifter so that you may change gears. You will still need to push the button in, but it's a safety feature.

That's what I thought it might be, too. But I never had one where I could feel and hear the click.

Oh well, might have the service dept look at it next time I'm in.

Thanks for the feedback.
