Default Question for the auto folks...

Or to anyone else who might be in the know. I was parked, idling last night waiting for Mrs to come out of the store. I noticed that if I stepped on the brake pedal, the shifter would CLICK (audible too) back and forth.

Not sure if this is the norm and I've just never noticed it before in any other auto tranny car with the shifter on the console before. Or is it something that needs to be looked at by the shop?

Any clues or input would be appreciated.

Yeah, all of them do it as far as I know. It clicks to because it's unlocking the shifter so that you may change gears. You will still need to push the button in, but it's a safety feature.

all I mean all autos click maybe not loud but they all do and he is right its to unlock the shifter try shifting when you foots not on the brake out of park ....can't do it because it's lock so you step on the brake........CLICK(all auto...don't say you have not had this happen all of them do it, in fact I think all autos int he country do it maybe world) it may not be loud like F'ing CCCCCCCCCCCCCCLLLLLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCC CCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKk!!! but it will do it

That's what I thought it might be, too. But I never had one where I could feel and hear the click.

Oh well, might have the service dept look at it next time I'm in.

I would have it looked at only to make you feel better about it but I really feel there is no need (it free for you so thats good)
