is it strange?
Depends. A few questions...
1. Do you have a CAI and tune?
2. What tires are you running?
3. What is your rear tire pressure?
4. What is your front tire pressure?
5. Did you take out your spare tire, jack, and trunk mat?
6. What rpm were you launching at, did you get spin off the line?
7. What track did you go to? What is the elevation? Is it hot today? Humid? Humidity will kill ET's.

i was running at lvms at 3000 feet it was pretty humid. i had no tune no intake stock tires at about 35lbs of pressure all the way arounddidint spin too much i had tc on launched at about 1200, have full interior with spair and everything, its vegas so its always hot. i ran 16.4 first run 16.4 second run. and a 15.98 third run when the sun went down. i broke out cause i had a 16.25 dial in. lol but i have a alternative auto tune in a sct2 in the mail with a bbk intake and im already runnnin a xpipe with no mufflers... does this sound normal or am i running slow?
its weird tho i run the best i possible couild have .080 rt and its an auto so i just punched it. and i launched at 1200 and got no spin so i couldnt have done anything any better... i actually run slower times when shifting manually. i guess its just the conditions, cause it was humid. and hot and sticky. its probably just vegas. cause i seen videos of stock gts in other states runnin 13s bone stock, and gts here wont even touch 13s here. kinda weird i guess....
thanks man. ill deff drop my rear pressure. im stoked to get it in the mail. and after that will be the 373s the posi and radials! i should have that by the end of the month. then after all that we will see what happends
My best was just the other night at the track whichwas a 15.049 and thats with an Evo Tune, JLT Intake and Dual Street Pro's. Not to mention i still have the spare and jack plus dual subs and amp in the trunk so it would pry go slightly faster then that.
You've gotten good advice here. The tune/CAI will show an improvement in your ET and speed, but don't expect a huge gain. Your track elevation/heat/conditions are working against you. My best time with my vert was with the TCS on too! You'll want the TCS off once you get the tune/intake installed. Also, make sure your AC is turned off, and pop the hood between runs to cool off. 'Til you get DR's, avoid the waterbox with street tires, and only spin them a bit to clean them off (heating street tires will hurt traction). And most of all, keep at it!
