Buying Pypes
I'm in an odd situation. I live in Canada,1 milefrom the US border. V6MustangStuff doesn't ship to Canada according to their website, so I'd have to have it sentto a post office on the other side in Washington. If I drive all the way out to the border crossing only to discover that you can't fit a square peg in a round hole, I'll be screwed. Besides, shipping costs to Canada are usually quite prohibitive ($100 or upI'm sure). Ah, then provincial taxes, currency conversion, and installation. I'm wondering if I ought to just take my chances with Jim The Muffler Guy's pipe-bending skills.

yeh I think you could fit them if you folded down the seats and pushed the passenger seat all the way forward. Youd definately be able to if you took the parts out of the boxes. but as sohcman said, they are greasy. (just wrap it up in an old sheet).
You'll love them. The first time I started it up I was smiling from ear to ear, no way to wipe that off. It doesnt sound like a six at all....beware...you will want to accelerate more just to hear the exhaust, therefore decreasing your gas mileage.
Guys with pypes...I dont know if it is a fact that mine are broken in, but the drone isnt bad anymore. I also started using 89 on filling up rather than just 87. I really think that the 89 helps drone somehow (dont ask)
Can you guys try it for a couple fill ups and tell me if its just my imagination?

I think those 2 extra octane points are leaking into the cabin!
LOL
I think you're right about the mellowing out.
Idle after it is warmed up is nice and quiet.

No,
The Street Pros mellow out after 5k - 8k miles.
Warm idle is really quiet, but cold idle is still loud.
Hear the difference on a cold night now, opposed to the first video of my duals.

2. Then:

Listen to the idle drop relatively quickly too.
Still love 'em.

i have the Pypes Street Pro kit. like the others say, there's some drone but then i like it. sometimes there's a rattle sound if i happen to drive up something like a driveway or going up a hill. the rattle makes the sound, then goes away. it's not a constant thing. maybe happens at the most once a week. the guy who installed it for me says it's a normal thing.

I wonder if it would be possible to offset the pipes to prevent drone? Do you guys think that would work? From what I understand and do correct me if I am wrong, Drone is caused by pressure going through the pipes at the same time. If one was offset, it would allow one pipe to blow out the exhaust ahead of the other side.

Didn't mean to ignore you!
You know what?Me and my Dad did a LOT of research on "drone"....
Know what we found? NOBODY AGREES what causes it.
Equal/unequal length pipes, different sound-deadening materials, different designs, location forward/rear, long pipes, short pipes, even/odd firing, V6, V8...
Been to Mustang sites, Corvette sites, Porsche sites, Physics sites, Automaker sites, muffler sites...
We were actually reviewing mathmatical formulas on sound waves whenwe stopped and said,WTF?!
We just gave up.
Give me drone over stock exhaust ANY day!!!
My old 351 Cougar and 429 Torino both had "drone" but back then we didn't have a word for it!!! We just thought they were LOUD. LOL

SOHCman, what year was your Torino? My brother had a '72 and my husband had a '71. My brother bought a brand new automatic and two days later started taking it apart making it a stick! He was crazy back then, but to this day he does admit he wished he had kept that car.
Mine was a 70, looked exactly like your hubby's except for the grill...
Mine looked better!
LOL
In 71 they "split" the grill...
Mine had "hideaway" lights too.
Hooker headers with 3" pipes and a C6 with shift kit... I could burn 'em with a 2-3 upshift!
Only thing it couldn't pass was a gas station.
